Screwdriver cocktail got its name from the way American oil workers used to spike their orange juice with a little Vodka in the oil rigs on the Persian Gulf in the mid-20th Century. In the absence of a spoon, they would stir their drink with a screwdriver, the name caught on.
In the UK it is lovingly called u201cVodka and Orangeu201d and there are several variations of this iconic yet simple cocktail.
