Why was Gin and Tonic invented?
MOREThe Gin and Tonic was invented by the British in the 19th century as a way to make tonic water more palatable. Tonic water was originally used to prevent malaria but it was so bitter that it was difficult to drink. The addition of gin and lime made it much more palatable and turned it into a popular cocktail.
Tonic water was originally created by the British Army or Navy, as a medicinal drink to help fight malaria. The active ingredient in tonic water is quinine which has been shown to be effective in treating the disease. Today tonic water is still consumed for its medicinal benefits although it is also commonly mixed with gin or vodka to create a refreshing cocktail.

Add bacardi O and coffee to a cup. Top with irish cream and green creme de menthe.
Bacardi Orange Rum
Bacardi O is an orange flavoured Rum, created by infusing Bacardi White Rum with the essence of Mandarin Oranges from Sicily, Valencia Oranges from Florida and Dancy Tangerines from Brazil, Florida and Israel.
Bacardi O is 35% ABV.Hot Coffee
Coffee or roasted coffee beans brewed in hot water, is the most popular drink that probably competes only with tea in the non-alocholic beverages category. Coffee being a rich source of caffeine it can help the human body overcome fatigue and improve physical performance and also lower risks of several conditions like Type II Diabetes, Cancer and Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease.
Coffee liqueur is a popular and brands like Kahlua and Tia Maria are regulars in cocktails, but often brewed non alcoholic coffee is used in cocktails too, hot black coffee with Rum and whipped cream is what makes a Troical Coffee Cocktail for you, and being a caffeine rich liquid, it is a strange combination with alcohol since it tends to interact with the body and do just the opposite of what alcohol does, that it, tries to keep you alert and awake.Irish Cream
Cream can be used to make a creamy cocktail, but when you make a cream cocktail make sure you whip and make your own version. You can also go for a heavy whipped cream which is thicker than regular cream and milk fat can be between 30%-40%.
For a rich and creamy cocktail recipe, combine heavy cream with one shot of alcohol and powdered sugar, then whip it until soft peaks form for a fluffy consistency or you can use it as a loose cream.Green Creme De Menthe
Creme de Menthe is the French for mint cream. It is a sweet mint flavoured alcoholic beverage. Made with Corsican mint leaves, steeped in grain alcohol for several weeks and then filtered and sweetened to create the liqueur.
There are two variations of creme de menthe, white and green, green Creme de Menthe is coloured green by adding mint leaves to the mint extract, otherwise both are similar in taste and flavour.
Note: If a bottle of Creme de Menthe is hard to come by, or not in a mood to buy a liqueur, substitute the Creme de Menthe Liqueur with a Creme de Menthe Syrup and Vodka.
