Smoker's Cough
smoker's cough is a popular Vodka cocktail containing a combinations of Vodka, Coffee Liqueur, Cola, Mayonnaise .Served using Any Glass of your Choice

An adventurous and visually provocative libation, the Smoker's Cough dares to blend the unconventional. At first glance, it appears like a murky mix of vodka, dark coffee liqueur and cola, eerily reminiscent of nicotine and phlegm thanks to a floating dollop of mayonnaise foam on top. However, one sip reveals an unexpectedly delightful dessert-like experience. The robust coffee liqueur provides a rich, mocha-esque base accented by the cola's subtle sweetness and fizz, while the vodka adds a boozy backbone. The mayo foam, though visually unsettling, imparts a creamy, tanginess that marries the flavors together into an indulgent, café au lait-inspired treat. For the bold cocktail explorer unafraid to challenge their senses, the Smoker's Cough delivers a taste-defying yet undeniably decadent payload.

Smoker's Cough Recipe

Fill a cocktail shaker or mixing glass with ice.Add 4 cl of vodka to the shaker.Follow it up with 2 cl of coffee liqueur.Pour in 8 cl of cola.Give the mixture a good shake to thoroughly combine the ingredients and chill the cocktail.Take a shot glass or your preferred glassware and strain the cocktail into it.Now, for the distinct presentation, carefully float 1 cl of mayo on top of the cocktail. You can achieve this by gently pouring it over the back of a spoon, allowing it to create a thin layer on the surface.

Note: the Jagermeister and Mayo cocktail we refer here is more commonly referred to, as the Smoker\'s Cough, but we prefer the other recipe that uses Vodka, Coffee Liqueur, Cola and Mayo for a better nicotine infused phlegm ;)

This is one wild cocktail that can be in the top 10 list of weird and gross cocktails that has the Sour foot Cocktail sitting perpetually at the top.

Why would anyone order a drink that looks as yucky, slimy and gross as the phlegm of a smoker`s cough? Don`t know, maybe a revenge order for a friend, or just pure fun.

The best part of the Smoker`s Cough shot is, it`s super easy to create and looks gross from the moment you drop that mayonnaise into the dark brown Jagermeister.

Try this at least once, and try this on a friend or dear one who you want a sweet revenge on, and only if you are sure you won`t puke while you see him gulp down that shot of smoker`s cough.

Note that although this cocktail is named a smoker`s cough by it`s appearance but however, there used to be one home grown syrup by that name too. This Smoker`s Cough is a cocktail that was created in the 19th century. The drink was designed to help smokers deal with their coughs. The cocktail is made with whiskey, lemon juice, and honey.

  • Vodka

Vodka is an European clear distilled alcoholic drink that has been one of the most popular drinks across the world .

You\'ll find it to be the most popular spirit in drink making because of it\'s neutral taste and absence of flavour and colour.

Vodka often replaces Gin in many traditional cocktails

Vodka is known to be good for the heart, and if consumed in moderation, can prove to be good for cardiovascular health

Note that these days there are flavoured Vodka available in the market too, and some cocktails do make use of them.

  • Kahlua Coffee Liqueur

Coffee liqueur is a liqueur produced by steeping roasted coffee, sugar and other ingredients in neutral spirit. The most famous coffee liqueur brands are Kahlua and Tia Maria, Kahlua has been made in Mexico since 1936.

However Kahlua has a thick buttery taste, that doesn\'t always appeal to the preferences of an alcoholic beverage lover. Which is why many people enjoy coffee liqueur made using their own home recipes.

Typical ingredients of coffee liqueur include liquor, espresso coffee, roasted coffee bean (and powder), sugar, and vanilla syrup.

The characteristic flavor of coffee along with over a couple of hundreds compounds contribute to the taste of coffee liqueur. Caffeine is a major ingredient of coffee, and also might be a taste factor that influences the complex flavour profile that appeal to coffee liqueur drinkers\' palate. Reference - International Journal of Engineering & Advanced Technology (IJEAT)

NOTE: In the absence of a Coffee Liqueur like Kahlua or Tia Maria, to make cocktails with Coffee Liqueur, Coffee Liqueur Syrup can be used as a substitute with the proportionate alcohol substituted with a triple distilled neutral Vodka.

  • Cola

Cola in general is a carbonated soft drink flavoured with vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, citrus oils and other flavourings and has been popular ever since it's invention by Pharmacist John Pemberton in 1886.

Cola gets it's name from the Kola Nut from which a Cola gets it's caffeine, the original recipe of Pemberton contained cocaine from coca leaves too, and was an non-alcoholic wine. Since it's invention the recipe has been closely guarded and yet replicated by many other brands of which, Pepsi Cola remain to be the major competition of Coca Cola invented and trade marked by Pemberton.

Cola being sweet and having a refreshing flavour profile that includes vanilla on top to a citrus taste with complex flavours of nutmeg, cinnamon and other very oriental herbs, it in itself is a great mixer for so many spirits. Best of course is the neutral Vodka but who doesn't want a Rom and Coca Cola? and have not heard the Andrew Sister's Song Rum and Coca Cola

Note: If you are one of those that are clinically dependent on Coca Cola or Cola in general and drink litres of Cola per day, the SodaStream Diet Cola will be a great alternative for you. It has less sugar and uses sucralose instead of aspartame used in Diet Cola. Each bottle makes 9 litres of Cola. Note that you need the Sodastream Sparkling Water Maker for this. But it's worth the money.

  • Mayonnaise

Mayonnaise is an emulsion of egg yolk, oil and an acid, which can be vinegar or lemon juice, and with many variations with added flavours. In United Kingdom Mayonnaise is used to make Cocktail sauces and are used in cocktails too to add a creamy dressing to cocktails.
