Evergreen Martini

What is the 151 in an 151 Proof Rum

MORE

The 151 Rum like the now discontinued Bacardi 151 is an 100 Proof or overproof Rum that has an alcoholic content of over 75%. But why 151? 151 is the Octane rating of jet fuel, and 151 is the purest jet fuel. The 151 Rum indeed has the strength of pure Jet Fuel.

Evergreen Martini
evergreen martini is a popular Vodka cocktail containing a combinations of Lemon Juice,Unprocessed Simple Syrup,Douglas Fir Tea*,Vodka .Served using Any Glass of your Choice
This Pacific Northwest martini infuses vodka with the essence of fresh fir trees. Served up like a classic martini, Douglas fir tea adds woodsy, pine notes while supporting the vodkas botanicals. Developed in Portland, Oregon, this martini encapsulates the surrounding evergreen forest. The firs resinous flavor blends smoothly with the vodkas backbone. Garnish with candied ginger or fir sprig. Sip this martini for a taste of the great Northwestern outdoors.

Evergreen Martini Recipe

Add all ingredients to ice-filled cocktail shaker and shake for 10 seconds. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with either a small evergreen branch or a piece of candied ginger. *Making simple syrup with unprocessed sugar gives a rounder sweetness to simple syrup. In airtight container, mix 1c sugar and 2c water. Shake every twenty minutes or so until completely dissolved.Brew tea and allow to steep for ten minutes as you would a regular cup of tea. Do not add milk or sugar. Chill in fridge until ready to use. (Cocktail by Gwen Sutherland Kaiser, Photo by Mary Claire Miraldi)
