What is the most banned Spirit?
MOREAbsinthe has been somewhat erroneously portrayed as a dangerous, hallucinogenic and addictive substance and had been banned for a very long period. However despite being a high proof spirit, Absinthe and the compound Thujone in it, is no more harmful than the alcohol in it.

Mezcal
Mezcal is a Mexican distilled alcoholic beverage made from the succulent plant Maguey, Maguay includes Genus Agave ( of which the Blue Agave of Tequila fame is part ) , Genus Furcraea and Maguey Flowers.
So technically a Tequila is a Mezcal. Mezcal is probably a product of Spanish conquest, the native agave fermented beers like pulque were what introduced the Spaniards to the Agave plant and with their experience of centuries of producing distilled liquor, they started producing Mezcal from different varities of Maguey. The word MEzcal comes from Nahuatl ( Aztec language ) word mexcalli, which means "oven-cooked agave".
Mezcal is 40% - 55% , 80 to 100 US Proof. IT is clear to golden in colour with a sweet, fruity, earthly and smoky flavour and is usually drank straight.

However, we have embarked on a journey of manually updating the relative strength of cocktails, their flavour profile and in the future aim at providing approximate calories per drink too.
Blue Tick Project:We aim at manually validating and verifying each cocktail in their current context and mark them as valid, where, a blue tick would mean that the recipe has been verified and is 100% accurate while an orange tick would mean the recipe has low confidence.
Where as a grey tick would mean that the recipe has not yet been manually validated or verified recently.
