What is a dirty cocktail?

MORE

A dirty cocktail is a cocktail made with a spirit that has been infused with flavour. The most common type of dirty cocktail is made with vodka that has been infused with olives but other flavours can be used as well.

Dirty cocktails are usually made by infusing vodka with flavour for a period of time but they can also be made by adding flavoured liqueurs or syrups to the mix.

A Martini is dirty, for example, when Olive brine is added to it.

Abortion
Abortion is a popular Liqueurs cocktail containing a combinations of White Creme De Cacao,Amaretto Almond Liqueur,Bailey`s Irish Cream,Grenadine Syrup .Served using Shot glass
Despite the off-putting name, this layered shooter provides an interesting flavor journey that`s not for the faint of heart. To make it, first pour white crème de cacao into a shot glass. Gently layer Amaretto and then Baileys Irish cream on top to create three distinct stripes. Use a skewer to carefully drizzle a few drops of grenadine syrup down the inside so it sinks to the bottom. Allow a minute for theLayers to settle before tilting back the glass in one go. As you swallow, the sweet chocolate flavor morphs into rich vanilla creaminess before a tart grenadine finish. The changing flavors keep your palate intrigued. Made with care, this shooter`s provocative name belies its nuanced taste experience.

  • Grenadine Syrup

Grenadine is a common non-alcoholic pomegranate syrup with a characteristic deep red colour. It is a very popular cocktail ingredient, used for its pomegranate flavour and more for its ability to add a reddish to pink tint to a cocktail.

The name Grenadine originates from the French for pomegranate, which is grenade.

Grenadine is not subjected to regulations like alcoholic beverages are, and there are no region specific formulae any more, and thus manufacturers often replace pomegranate with blackcurrant juice and other fruit juices while retaining the same flavour profile.

Many producers now use artificial ingredients like high fructose corn syrup, water, citric acid, sodium citrate, sodium benzoate and food grade red colour along with natural and artificial flavours.
