Gingerbread Apple Crisp Recipe


Place 1/2 cup of simple syrup and 4 tablespoons of graham cracker crumbs on separate plates. Dip outside rim of martini glass into simple syrup, then into graham cracker crumbs several times to ensure coverage. Set aside. In a cocktail shaker, combine rum, gingerbread syrup, apple juice and lemon juice. Shake with ice in a cocktail shaker and strain into rimmed martini glass. Garnish with red apple slice.Grand Poinsettia Cocktail (right) - 1 oz Bacardi Grand Melon- 1/2 oz orange curacao- 2 oz POM Wonderful juice- 1/2 oz Lemon Juice- 1/2 oz Simple Syrup- 1/2 oz champagne or sparkling wineCombine rum, orange curacao, POM, lemon juice and simple syrup with ice. Shake and strain into a tall glass. Top off with sparking wine. Garnish with a rosemary sprig.

    Gingerbread Syrup is a flavoured sugar syrup like any other syrup, with water, sweetener and spices being the main ingredients, in Gingerbread Syrup the spices are ginger and nutmeg sweetened with molasses and sugar.

  • Bacardi Big Apple Rum

    Rum is a liqour that originated in the West indies and is made by fermenting then distilling sugarcane molasses or sugarcane juice. The distillate is usually a clear liquid and is then aged in oak barrels.

    Most Rums are produced in the Caribbeans and American countries, but are now produced in other sugar producing countries like PHilippines and Taiwan.

    The first recorded mention of Rum comes from Barbados, in about 1650. They were originally called "kill-devil" or "rumbullion" and later on, simply Rum.

  • Apple Juice

    Apple juice is a fruit juice made by maceration and pressing of an apple. The extract is usually clarified of suspended starch and pectin and then pasteurised and bottled or further clarified to produce a commercial juice. Apple juice manufacturing being an expensive process, it is mostly produced commercially worldwide.
    Apple juice if unconcentrated, is 88% water and helps rehydrating the body, it contains beneficial plant compounds like polyphenols. Lakewood's Organic Apple Juice is one of the best choices of Organic Apple Juice, while Mott's Sensible Apple is the brand that has the least added sugar in it.
    Apple juice goes well with Vodka too, while dark liquors like Bourbon and Dark Rum had been the traditional choices with Apple Juice.
