What is the story of Betsy's Braces and the origin of the word Cocktail?
MOREIt is a popular rumour that a barmaid named Betsy, served a mixed drink in her tavern, during the Revolutionary War. The drink she made was called Betsy's Braces and it is said to have been popular with American and French soldiers.
