Pour Kahlua coffee liqueur into a shot glass. Top with Bailey's irish cream and Jameson whiskey. Drop the shot glass into a half-pint of Guinness, and consume immediately.

  • Kahlua Coffee Liqueur

    Coffee liqueur is a liqueur produced by steeping roasted coffee, sugar and other ingredients in neutral spirit. The most famous coffee liqueur brands are Kahlua and Tia Maria, Kahlua has been made in Mexico since 1936.

    However Kahlua has a thick buttery taste, that doesn't always appeal to the preferences of an alcoholic beverage lover. Which is why many people enjoy coffee liqueur made using their own home recipes.

    Typical ingredients of coffee liqueur include liquor, espresso coffee, roasted coffee bean (and powder), sugar, and vanilla syrup.

    The characteristic flavor of coffee along with over a couple of hundreds compounds contribute to the taste of coffee liqueur. Caffeine is a major ingredient of coffee, and also might be a taste factor that influences the complex flavour profile that appeal to coffee liqueur drinkers' palate.     NOTE: In the absence of a Coffee Liqueur like Kahlua or Tia Maria, to make cocktails with Coffee Liqueur, Coffee Liqueur Syrup can be used as a substitute with the proportionate alcohol substituted with a triple distilled neutral Vodka.

    Jameson has an interesting history if we go by the whisky or whiskey first argument, the founder of the distillery John Jameson was originally a lawyer from Alloa, Scotland and previous to establishing the Jameson distillery in Ireland, he married Margaret Haig in 1768, Margaret was the eldest daughter of John Haig, the famous Scottish whisky distiller.

    Jameson is produced from a blend of grain whiskey and single pot still whiskey, a single pot still whiskey is a traditional Irish distillation technique of using a mixture of malted and unmalted barley, and Jameson uses the Irish unmalted green barley, all sourced from within a fifty miles of the distillery in Cork.

    The barley is dried in a closed kiln fired by natural gas, while anthracite was used previously. This is a distinctive contrast to the use of peat in firing the kiln in Scottish Whisky distillation, which adds a distinctive peat flavour.

  • Guinness Stout

    Gunniess is an Irish dry stout that was the produce of Arthur Guinness's brewery at St. James's Gate Dublin, Ireland in 1759. It is the most successful alcohol brand worldwide, Guinness is brewed in almost 50 countries and sold in over 120 countries. Guinness' unique flavour derives it's uniqueness from malted barley and roasted unmalted barley brews, the older recipe was to blend a portion of aged brew with a freshly brewed beer to give it a sharp lactic acid flavour. On another note, a dry stout is a dark, top-fermented beer, and dry stout is one of the few variants of a stout beer. The original reference of stout was of the strength of the beer, and the same dark brown beer in a later period has also been referred to as a porter, and the stronger verities were called "stout porter" and thus the history of a stout and a porter is pretty intertwined. Although today, a stout is strictly a dark beer, strength is not a qualification of a stout anymore. Top fermenting is one of the different beer brewing techniques, in which, the yeast is applied to the top of the wort ( the sugary extract of the malts and other ingredients that the yeast will ferment into a beer ) at a much higher temperature.
