Honestly, we tried hard to locate the name and reason behind, this Pain in the Ass name for this cocktail, the cocktail tastes good, and the name appeared to be so sophisticated!

We found nothing, no anecdotal story, no description anywhere whatsoever!

But then it appeared to us that one of the ingredients being a DeKuyper Sour Apple Pucker must have something to do with it!

The DeKuyper Sour Apple Pucker is an Apple Flavoured Schnapps produced in the Netherlands, and neither it nor any of the other liquors and mixers have anything that could cause a pain in the arse ( literally ) or be so difficult to obtain that it would be a pain in the ass!

The only probable reason we found, could be in the name of the Pucker, the creator used the meaning of "pucker" as in "an anal wink, or a sudden rectal contraction that is so intense that it can cause a siudden shock and the nervous system collapses resulting in the body falling to the ground" .... as described here "anal pucker" the real "pain in the ass",

Thus, the name "Pain in the Ass" probably came into circulation.
